PFL Partners with Dubai to Expand MMA in the Middle East

The Professional Fighters League (PFL) is set to make a significant impact in the Middle East with a newly established multi-year partnership with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and the Dubai Sports Council. This collaboration aims to position Dubai as a premier destination for mixed martial arts events while fostering local talent.

The first event under this historic partnership is scheduled for January 25, 2025, at the Coca-Cola Arena, featuring a Lightweight title fight between Usman Nurmagomedov and Paul Hughes. The deal not only brings high-caliber MMA action to Dubai but also serves as a platform for developing Emirati fighters, offering them opportunities to compete at an international level.

Dubai’s increasing investment in combat sports aligns with its broader vision of becoming a global hub for sports and entertainment. With world-class venues, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and a dedicated fanbase, the city is well-positioned to host major MMA events, attracting top-tier athletes and organizations.

As the PFL continues to expand its presence worldwide, this partnership with Dubai represents a strategic move that will significantly impact the future of MMA in the region. Expect more thrilling events, greater accessibility for regional fighters, and increased fan engagement as the sport continues its rapid global growth.
